Agilent 5973N Network MS Detector with G59864B Ionization Gauge Controller

The Agilent 5973 Network MSD is a stand-alone capillary GC detector. The 5973 MSD is designed for use with the Agilent 6890 Series gas chromatograph.

This system includes:

250 L/sec turbomolecular high vacuum pump

Agilent G59864B ionization gauge controller

Independently heated electron-ionization ion source

Independently heated hyperbolic quadrupole mass filter

High-energy dynode (HED) electron multiplier detector

Independently heated GC/MSD interface

The control panel allows local monitoring and operation of the MSD. The control panel acts as a local user interface to the MSD. You can perform some basic tasks such as running a tune, a method, or a sequence; and monitor MSD status from the control panel.

Operator control of the Agilent 5973N MSD is through the data system by computer network (NOT included) with programs to calibrate (tune) the MSD, acquire data, and analyze data.

• Tuning programs adjust voltages in the ion source, calibrate mass assignments, and control the scanning of the analyzer.
• Data acquisition programs allow you to monitor the total ion chromatogram (TIC), automatically storing the mass spectra of GC peaks as they elute. This is the scan mode. Alternatively, you can monitor the concentrations of particular ions. This is selected ion monitoring mode (SIM).
• Data analysis programs allow you to integrate chromatograms (TIC or SIM), view and manipulate mass spectral data, compare spectra to databases of reference spectra in a library search, quantitate data, and generate reports.

The G59864B ion gauge controller (IGC) measures pressures from less than 2 x 10-6 Torr to 5 x 10-2 Torr, air equivalent, using a miniature triode style ionization gauge with pressure readout via a front panel display. The G59864B IGC will operate over a line voltage range of 100 Vac +/- 10, 47-63 Hz.
