This Buchi Rotavapor R-200 rotary evaporator includes a B-490 bath, V-700 vacuum pump, V-850 vacuum controller and the glassware seen in photos (dry ice condenser, evaporating and receiving flasks).

The Buchi Rotavapor R-200 is ideal for the safe distillation of solvents, evaporation of solvents and suspensions and for (re)crystallization of liquids in the rotary evaporator. Distillations can be performed under vacuum and atmospheric pressure. The Buchi R-200 allows users to quickly perform single step distillations in a product friendly manner with the evaporation and condensation of solvents using the rotating evaporating flask. Distillations are typically performed under vacuum, which helps protect the product and increases performance output. While specific conditions will varying depending on application, the basic operation of the Buchi R-200 rotovap is as follows: the solvent is heated over a heating bath while the drive unit rotates the evaporating flask evenly. The solvent vapor flows quickly into the condenser and the energy in the solvent is transferred to the cooling medium. And presto bingo, the solvent condenses and collects in the receiving flask. The Buchi R-200 is relatively easy to use and features digital displays for bath temperature, rotation speed and vapor temperature.
