Description
Inspection gage ball sets are high-precision, hardened, and ground spheres used in metrology to measure, inspect, and calibrate critical dimensions
Key Uses of Inspection Gage Balls:
- Internal Taper & Cone Measurement: Used to determine taper angles, opening diameters, and theoretical gage line depths.
- Hole, Slot, and Depth Inspection: Precisely measure diameters of small holes, bores, and grooves. When used with a micrometer, they can check widths that standard tools cannot reach.
- Checking Complex Geometries: Ideal for verifying the major diameters of countersinks, gear pitch diameters, and screw threads.
- Calibration & Setup: Used to calibrate other inspection instruments, like micrometers, and for setting up machines.
- CMM Reference Points: Used as reference points (spheres) in Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and to aid in aligning parts for EDM processing.
These Precision Components Grade 25 chrome steel alloy ball bearings are hardened to R/C 63 ground and lapped to a surface finish of 1.5 micro-inch; within 0.0001 of actual size and sphericity within 0.000025".
This is 53-ball set includes certificate of conformity and carrying case.
