Thermo Multiskan EX355 Microplate Reader

The Thermo Multiskan EX is a standalone photometric microplate absorbance reader including internal software. The Multiskan EX can also be controlled by a computer (not included). This microplate photometer is used for measuring absorbance from suitable microplates and strips in 96-well plate format. It can be used in research or routine-test laboratories. The Multiskan EX is an eight-channel vertical light path filter photometer.

The versatile onboard software of Multiskan EX allows end point and kinetic reading modes. Flexible cutoff calculations and curve fit algorithms give Multiskan EX increased flexibility for data manipulation in various diagnostic applications. The extended memory holds up to 64 assay protocols. It comprises the following keyboard selectable software packages (program modules): Primary EIA, Cutoff, and Cubic spline. Each package is a combination of different measurement and calculation modes. Each mode is self-prompting, which reduces the error factor and simplifies operation.

The wavelength (400 – 750 nm) is selected using maximum eight high-quality interference filters held in a filter wheel. This unit has 4 filters - position 1 (405nm), position 2 (450nm), position 3 (620nm) and position 4 (650nm).

The readings can be processed via a serial RS-232C interface or via a parallel Centronics type printer interface.
