Nikon Diaphot TMD Inverted, Phase-Contrast Microscope with Micromanipulators

This Nikon Diaphot TMD inverted, phase-contrast microscope comes from a working lab and includes 2 Leica mechanical micromanipulators. All are mounted on a base - as seen in photos. The microscope has 2 x CFWN 10X eyepieces, a LWD phase-contrast turret, mechanical stage and 3 Plan objectives (4X, 10X and 40X). This workhorse tissue culture microscope features advanced optical design for the shortest, most efficient light path. Incorporated as a part of the built-in turret assembly is a focusable Bertrand lens, photomask reticle and dark slide. The Nikon Diaphot TMD is a robust, inverted microscope designed for life science research, particularly for observing living cells and tissue cultures, with capabilities for phase contrast, fluorescence, and other imaging techniques. Its inverted design allows observation from below through the stage, which is advantageous for viewing specimens in dishes or flasks. The Diaphot TMD offers high-resolution imaging with long working distance objectives, includes multiple camera ports, and features a stable platform for micromanipulation procedures like patch clamping.

Leica mechanical micromanipulators have proved extremely successful in all branches of medicine and biology where surgical, physiological or chemical operations have to be performed on living animal and vegetable organisms. They are also useful for technical assembly and machining processes that can only be observed through the microscope. In a continuously selectable gear reduction, Leica micromanipulators translate, directly and without any backlash, the hand movements of the operator evenly and in the right direction to the tools.
