Union Carbide 35VHC Cryogenic Storage Tank (35L)

The Union Carbide (Taylor Wharton) 35VHC High-Capacity (HC) Series of refrigerators are designed for long-term preservation of biological samples like cells and tissues. The 35VHC holds 6 stainless steel hanging racks in individually numbered grooves (only 5 racks are included with this unit). Each hanging rack has a capacity of ten 100-cell boxes (not included). Samples are placed in these boxes and immersed in liquid nitrogen inside of the 35VHC cryogenic storage container. When samples are submerged in liquid nitrogen, storage temperatures reach -196°C (-320°F) at the liquid surface, and -299°F (-184°C) under the closed necktube core.
