This Thermo Nicolet iS50 FTIR system is in good working order and includes the Continuum imaging microscope, a Smart Orbit ATR accessory, an ICL Earth series long-path gas fuel cell, a Worthington Industries 35LDB liquid nitrogen dewar / cryogenic storage tank (with roller base and liquid withdrawal device), OMNIC software and cables - as seen in photos.

Designed to be highly flexible, the Nicolet iS50 FTIR spectrometer can be upgraded from a simple FTIR bench to a fully-automated multi-spectral range system that can acquire spectra from far-infrared to visible. You can initiate novel ATR, Raman and NIR modules at the touch of a button, enabling access to these techniques without manually changing system components. The Thermo Fisher Scientific iS50 Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) system lets you collect spectra in the mid-IR spectra range from 4,000 to 400 cm-1 with the resolution of 0.09 cm-1. The system integrates advanced hardware features with the power and flexibility of OMNIC software.
Smart Orbit ATR Accessory: The Smart Orbit is a high-performance diamond single bounce ATR accessory. Diamond ATR is ideal for analysis of hard, abrasive, reactive, caustic or corrosive materials because it is both inert and extremely strong. Diamond also has a wide spectral range and good depth of penetration, which makes it a great choice for more common samples. The Smart Orbit offers additional sampling flexibility by offering optional germanium and silicon crystal plates and a 45 degree specular reflectance option. A flow cell can be added to facilitate the introduction of liquid samples to the ATR crystal element. Four different sample tips are included with the adjustable pressure tower: one short and one long pointed tip to apply high pressure to solid samples; a concave tip – for spherical solid samples; and a Teflon coated tip for powders and delicate samples such as combinatorial beads. The Lightning Viewer provides an 8X magnified view of the sample, ideal for ensuring sample placement upon the ATR crystal.

ICL Earth Series Fuel Cell: The ICL Earth Series Gas Cells are glass-bodied sample cells for general analytical application at room temperature and atmospheric pressure. Available pathlengths are from approximately one to six meters in half meter increments. The optical configuration is a “Hanst” style multi-pass cell where the mirrors are permanently aligned at the designated pathlength, glued to the glass chamber (borosilicate(pyrex)) and fixtured with black anodized aluminum hardware. Swagelok gas fittings with valves are commonly provided. End plates can be plumbed with tapped NPT holes or VCR connections. Standard optical coatings are multi-layered dielectric bare gold, a highly durable and highly reflective surface. Alternative coatings can include protected silver, protected gold, or aluminum coatings.
Worthington 35LDB Cryogenic Storage System: The Worthington 35LDB liquid nitrogen storage dewar is engineered for optimal performance, featuring a 35-liter capacity and an impressive 152-day static hold time. Its durable aluminum construction and superior vacuum insulation make it the ideal choice for professionals seeking reliable and efficient storage solutions.

The Liquid Withdrawal Device (LWD) provides convenient pressure transfers of liquid nitrogen from LD25, LD35 and LD50 Dewars. The device clamps directly to the special neck flange that is found under the plastic trim collar around the neck of these containers.
Flow rates up to 8 liters per minutes are possible at operating pressures up to 7.25 psig (0.5 bar/50 kPa). Liquid can be dispensed directly from the LWD via the spout provided, or through a standard cryogenic hose connected to the liquid outlet.
Filling a Dewar is accomplished by pressure transfer through the withdrawal device. This filling method allows replenishment of the liquid supply in the Dewar without removing the LWD, while keeping the liquid saturated at a pressure sufficient to sustain liquid withdrawal.
Weight of a filled 35L Dewar can exceed 100lbs (45kg). Use of the cast aluminum roller base with 5 wheels is strongly recommended for safe transport.
